Policy Statement
Employees in full-time regular positions may receive additional paid leave for qualified medical events through the leave donation program after all their banked and accrued leave has been exhausted. The additional paid leave may be donated by full-time regular employees who elect to donate leave from either their banked or accrued leave time.
The leave recipient will receive the donated hours in their bank. A qualified medical event is considered to be an illness or injury requiring you to be out of work for three or more consecutive days. A doctor’s note is required.
Procedure(s)
The leave donor would provide a written request to the Human Resources Department to transfer hours from his or her banked or accrued leave time to the bank of the recipient.
Human Resources will verify availability of hours and process the manual adjustment.
