Policy Title

CGUS & COE Final Dismissal Policy
Policy Statement

Any undergraduate or graduate student who is readmitted to the University following their first academic dismissal from CGUS or COE will be reinstated on Academic Probation. While on Academic Probation the student must meet the requirements of Academic Policy AS.037 or AS.038 as applicable, as well as the conditions of their academic performance contract to continue enrollment.
An undergraduate student on Academic Probation following their first academic dismissal who fails to earn a minimum 2.0 GPA will be academically dismissed from the University. Should a reinstated undergraduate student’s Cumulative GPA ever drop below 2.0 after returning to Academic Good Standing, s/he is subject to Academic Dismissal at the end of any academic term in which the Cumulative GPA drops below 2.0.
A graduate student on Academic Probation following their first academic dismissal who fails to earn a minimum 3.0 GPA will be academically dismissed from the University. Should a reinstated graduate student’s Cumulative GPA ever drop below 3.0 after returning to Academic Good Standing, s/he is subject to Academic Dismissal at the end of any academic term in which the Cumulative GPA drops below 2.0.
A second Academic Dismissal at the undergraduate or graduate level permanently denies all future registration privileges at the University. Dismissal is the most serious academic standing classification denoting a repeated failure to meet minimum university academic standards. Therefore, as a matter of general policy, students are not eligible for readmission to the University following a second academic dismissal.
