POLICY TITLE
Doctor of Chiropractic 1st Term GPA Requirement Policy
POLICY STATEMENT
Students enrolled in their first term in the Doctor of Chiropractic Program (DCP) will not be allowed to register for courses not included in the first quarter curriculum. A student enrolled in the DCP earning a 1st term GPA < 1.5 will be dismissed form the College of Chiropractic
PROCEDURE(S)
As students are registered for their first term in the DCP, they will not be able to register for courses offered in later quarters within the program. Academic Advisors in the University Advisement Center will ensure first quarter students are taking only those courses outlined in the curriculum as first quarter courses. The College of Chiropractic Dean receives a list of students and their first term GPA on the day after grades are recorded by the Registrar’s office. Any student having a 1st term GPA < 1.5 will be dismissed from the College of Chiropractic. The student will receive a dismissal notification from the Dean, a hold placed on their account, and all courses chosen during pre-registration for the subsequent quarter eliminated.
Any student from the Doctor of Chiropractic Program may be eligible to return under the COC Reinstatement Policy. If the student’s term GPA is < 1.5 after returning under the COC Reinstatement Policy, the student will be considered academically dismissed and will no longer be eligible for readmission.
