Policy Title
CGUS/COE Determination of Institutional Credit Toward Degree when Credits are More Than 10 Years Old Policy
Policy Statement
When a student has an interruption of progression toward their degree that causes earned institutional credit to be more than 10 years old, the credit will be removed from the active program, unless otherwise noted below. The student may petition (transfer appeal) to have the credit considered toward degree and appeal to the Dean of the College.
General Education coursework will be accepted regardless of length of time since completion of coursework unless indicated otherwise in this policy. Certain majors require a specific grade in some coursework or as a pre-requisite for enrollment in a subsequent course; institutional credit not meeting these grade requirements will not be accepted. However, appropriate placement test scores may be utilized to satisfy the time-limit requirement. Furthermore, certain majors where accreditation requires a time-limit for completed coursework or those majors where content changes on a routine basis, time-limit guidelines will be published in the program requirements listed in the university catalog
