Degree Requirements


Students receiving the Bachelor of Science in Health Coaching degree must complete a minimum of 180 credit hours of instruction plus 10 hours of SLP (service project). The degree is as follows:

Core Curriculum Offerings


Area I: Humanities, Health and Wellness 25 Quarter Hours
Area II: Social Sciences 15 Quarter Hours
Area III: Science, Mathematics and Computers 20 Quarter Hours

Total: 60 Quarter Hours


Bachelor of Science in Health Coaching Offerings


Area IV:  Foundation to Major 30 Quarter Hours
Area V:  Major Requirements 60 Quarter Hours
Area VI: Electives & Minors 30 Quarter Hours

Total: 120 Quarter Hours


Total for Bachelor of Science in Health Coaching: 180 Quarter Hours

Core Curriculum Offerings   

All Health Coaching students are advised to take BIO 111 and CHM 111 in Area II.

Note(s):


* NTR 300  and NTR 405  can substitute for SHS 406  

** NTR 320 , NTR 321  and NTR 433  can substitute for SHS 321   

Area VI: Electives and Minors*


Choose any of the following (30 Credit Hours):

15 hours must be 300 level and above.

Each minor will have specific requirements. Refer to the current academic catalog for these requirements.

Total Credits: 180 Quarter Hours


Additional Completion Requirements


  1. Completion of at least four years of prescribed study, with at least 25% of coursework completed at Life University. 45 quarter credit hours of Health Coaching courses being earned in residency.
  2. Satisfactory completion of all Foundations toHealth Coaching and Major Courses (Areas IV - V) courses with a minimum grade of “C.”
  3. Satisfactory completion of all courses with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.0.
  4. Completion of SLP requirements and documentation on co-curricular transcript.
  5. Exit interviews with Career Placement and Accounting Counselors.
  6. Complete Exit Counseling online at www.StudentAid.gov if you borrowed federal loans.
  7. Official Graduation Records Review with the Registrar or designate.

To complete the Bachelor of Science with 180 quarter credit hours and a major in Health Coaching, students are required to take the following core curriculum listed below for Area I-VI.
