Degree Requirements
To complete the Bachelor of Science with 185 quarter credit hours and a major in Interdisciplinary Studies students are required to take the following curriculum listed below for Area I-VI. Core Curriculum Offerings

Area IV: Foundation to Major
40 Quarter Credit Hours Grade of “C” or better is required. A. Humanities
(10 – 20 Quarter Hours Required) (Courses drawn from Literature, Film, Foreign Language, Philosophy, writing courses, or any other Humanities course.) B. Social Sciences
(10 – 20 Quarter Hours Required) (Courses drawn from History, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology courses, or any other Social Science course). C. Science, Mathematics and Computers
(10 – 20 Quarter Hours Required) (Courses drawn from Business, Exercise Science, Math, Natural Science, Nutrition, or any other academic discipline besides Humanities and Social Sciences). Area V: Major Requirements
60 Quarter Credit hours (Must be 300 level or above with required prerequisites or equivalent completed; or, on COC transfer list.) Grade of “C” or better is required. Courses chosen from 2 separate academic disciplines. Area VI: Electives
10 Quarter Credit hours (Must be 300 and above with required prerequisites or equivalent completed; or, on COC transfer list) Grade of “C” or better is required. Area VII: Free Electives
15 Quarter Credit Hours (Any course offered not previously taken.) Additional Completion Requirements
- Completion of at least four years of prescribed study, with at least 25% of coursework being earned at Life University.
- All courses used in Areas IV – VI must be passed with a “C” or better.
- Satisfactory completion of all courses with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.0.
- Completion of SLP requirements documented on co-curricular transcript.
- File a petition to graduate.
- Administrative and student reviews of records:
- Registrar Office – Complete a formal academic records review
- Complete Exit Counseling, if applicable, online at www.StudentAid.gov
- Student Accounting – rectify any account balance
