Degree Requirements


Students receiving a Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology degree must complete a minimum total of 180 Quarter Credit hours of instruction.


Core Curriculum Offerings


Area I: Humanities, Health and Wellness 25 Quarter Credit Hours
Area II: Social Sciences 15 Quarter Credit Hours
Area III: Science, Mathematics and Computers 20 Quarter Credit Hours

Total: 60 Quarter Credit Hours


Bachelor of Science Offerings


Area IV: Foundations to the Major 30 Quarter Credit Hours
Area V: Major Courses 60 Quarter Credit Hours
Area VI: Electives30 30 Quarter Credit Hours

Total: 120 Quarter Credit Hours


Total Bachelor of Science Requirements: 180 Quarter Credit Hours

Core Curriculum Offerings   

Biopsychology students must take BIO 111, BIO 112 and CHM 111 in Area III B. A grade of “C” or better is required for these courses.

  • Any combination of courses, not previously used totaling 15 hours
  • Any combination of courses (300+), not previously used totaling 15 hours

Additional Completion Requirements


  1. Completion of at least four years of prescribed study, of which at least 25% of coursework must be earned at Life University, with at least 25 credit hours of biopsychology courses in residency.
  2. Satisfactory completion of all Biology and Psychology courses with a minimum grade of C.
  3. Satisfactory completion of all courses with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.0.
  4. Completion of SLP requirements and documentation on co-curricular transcript.
  5. File a petition to graduate.
  6. Administrative and student reviews of records
    1. Registrar Office – Complete a formal academic records review
    2. Complete Exit Counseling, if applicable, online at www.StudentAid.gov
    3. Student Accounting – rectify any account balance
