Bachelor of Science in Psychology Degree Curriculum


Degree Requirements


Students receiving a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree must complete a minimum total of 180 quarter credit hours of instruction.

Core Curriculum Offerings


Area I: Humanities, Health and Wellness 25 Quarter Credit Hours
Area II: Social Sciences 15 Quarter Credit Hours
Area III: Science, Mathematics and Computers 20 Quarter Credit Hours

Total: 60 Quarter Credit Hours


Bachelor of Science Offerings


Area IV: Foundation to Major 30 Quarter Credit Hours
Area V: Major Requirements 60 Quarter Credit Hours
Area VI: Electives 30 Quarter Credit Hours

Total: 120 Quarter Credit Hours

Core Curriculum Offerings  

Psychology students are required to take MSC 201: Introduction to Statistics in Area IIIA

Area IV: Foundation to Major

30 Quarter Credit Hours

  • Choose a Minor of 25 credit hours and 5 elective credit hours OR choose 30 credit hours of elective courses not previously taken, with at least 15 credit hours at 300 level or above. Minimum grade of C or better required for the minor.

Additional Completion Requirements


  1. Completion of at least four years of prescribed study, of which a student must earn at least 25% of coursework at Life University.
  2. Satisfactory completion of all psychology courses in Areas IV – VI with a minimum grade of C.
  3. Satisfactory completion of all courses with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.0.
  4. Completion of SLP requirements and documentation on co-curricular transcript.
  5. File a petition to graduate.
  6. Student Administrative records reviews
    1. Registrar Office – Complete a formal academic records review
    2. Complete Exit Counseling, if applicable, online at www.StudentAid.gov
    3. Student Accounting – rectify any account balance
