Program Description:

Life University’s Health and Wellness Associates Degree program is designed for individuals who wish to take part in America’s cultural change toward sustainable health choices and wellness centered lifestyles. Upon completion of these degree requirements, graduates will be prepared to seek employment with recreational and health club facilities, community or corporate wellness programs, or pursue independent contracting. Alternatively, graduates may choose to continue their education through various professional certifications and advanced degree programs. 

Associate of Science Degree in Health and Wellness Curriculum


Students receiving an Associate of Science in Health and Wellness degree must complete a minimum total of 97 credit hours of instruction. 

Core Curriculum Offerings


Area I: Communications and Humanities 15 Credit Hours
Area II: Science, Mathematics, and Computers 20 Credit Hours
Area III: Social Sciences 15 Credit Hours

 

Total: 50 Credit Hours


Associate Degree Offerings


Area IV: Core Science Requirements 25 Credit Hours
Area V: Wellness Requirements 22 Credit Hours
Area VI: Major Electives 0 Credit Hours
Area VII: Free Electives 0 Credit Hours

 

Total: 47 Credit Hours


Total Associate of Science Requirements: 97 Credit Hours


Area I: Communication & Humanities (15 Credit Hours)


A. Communications & Humanities


10 credit hours and a grade of “C” or better are required

 

B. Communications and Humanities Electives


5 credit hours required

  • Choose from any ENG, FLM, HUM, or foreign language course not previously included

 

Area II: Science, Mathematics and Computer (20 Credit Hours)


All courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or better.

A. Mathematics


5 credit hours required

B. Life Sciences


10 credit hours required

III. Social Sciences (15 Credit Hours)


All courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or better)

A. Psychology


5 credit hours required

  • Choose from any PSC, PSY, or SOC courses not previously included

Area IV: Core Science Requirements (25 Credit Hours)


All courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or better.

Area V: Wellness Requirements (22 Credit Hours)


All courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or better.

Additional Completion Requirements


  1. Completion of at least two years of prescribed study, with at least 25% of coursework being earned at Life University.
  2. Satisfactory completion of all Area IV - V courses with a minimum grade of C or better.
  3. Satisfactory completion of all courses with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.0.
  4. File a petition to graduate
  5. Administrative and student reviews of records:
  • Registrar Office – Complete a formal academic records review
  • Complete Exit Counseling, if applicable, online at www.StudentAid.gov
  • Student Accounting – Rectify any account balance
