BIO 450 - Understanding Human Body Systems


(3-2-4)

Pre-requisite:  BIO 201  , BIO 203  , BIO 441  , and BIO 442  

This online course is an advanced and accelerated clinically oriented anatomy and physiology course with an emphasis on pathological conditions that can occur within the human body systems, how the body can heal itself through its immune system and use of modern technology. Topics will include a clinically oriented anatomy and physiology study of the back, upper and lower limbs, thorax, abdomen, pelvis and perineum, head and neck, and the organ systems within those regions. Each week, students will be given a complex case study to evaluate based upon the anatomical region of the week and will research the topic, make differential diagnoses, and write a case report. Students will interact with each other through discussion boards and peer reviews of case reports. This course will provide a vitalistic learning approach to understanding the human body systems.
