Student Conduct-Travel Policy

Policy Statement


When traveling as official representatives of Life University to athletic competitions, events and appearances, student‐ athletes’ actions should reflect favorably on the University, their team and themselves. Student‐ athletes are expected to adhere to their particular team’s dress code, team rules and curfew. Violations of University and/or Athletic Department expectations while traveling as a representative of Life University is strictly prohibited and will be dealt with in a serious manner.

All student‐ athletes must travel to and from ALL away contests with transportation provided by Life University. Student-athletes may be released upon approval of the Director of Athletics to their parent(s) or guardian(s) only for the return travel from an away contest. Only in emergency circumstances, and with approval of the Athletic Director, will an exception be granted. When a student-athlete is traveling from an away contest with their parent(s)/guardian, a travel liability release must be signed and turned into the Director of Athletics.

Violations of the Student-Athlete Travel Policy, but are not limited to:

•    Use of any t obacco or drugs, including alcohol, while traveling.

•    Mistreatment of the facilities of the opposing institution or any other property while traveling for competition.

•    Allowing anyone other than a member of the approved travel party to stay in overnight accommodations.

Sanctions due to violations of the travel policy is up the discretion of the Director of Athletics. All Head Coaches must notify the AD of travel policy violations.
