HCM 340 - Introduction to Electronic Healthcare Records / EMR System
Prerequisite: HCM 301
This course examines the advancements in technology of Electronic Health Records. Through a conceptual theory of health information systems used in health care delivery systems this course includes terminology and essential concepts of health information systems. This course will provide an overview of the current leading automated administrative, clinical, and financial systems in the United States. Additionally, the course covers the structure of electronic health records (EHRs). The content includes an overview of the transition Healthcare organizations are taking to adopt electronic health record systems and their various components.
