HCM 360 - Introduction to Healthcare Law & Advocacy

Prerequisites: HCM 301   & HCM 350  

This course introduced the foundations and critical concepts, laws, policies, and systems Healthcare executives must know to lead a healthcare organization in this country. This course examines how congressional oversight in partnership with the department of health and human services (HHS) develops to protect public well-being. This includes exploring The Healthcare Quality Improvement Act (HCQIA), Medicare and Medicaid legislation, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), The Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act (PSQIA), and the Affordable Care Act (ACA) of 2010.
