PUBH 1517 - Basic Nutrition (5-0-5) Prerequisite: CHEM 1516 An overview of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, vitamins and minerals is presented in detail in this course. Practical aspects of planning and consuming a healthy diet are emphasized. Additional topics include weight management, eating disorders, sports nutrition and changing nutrition needs throughout the life cycle. Non-nutrient dietary components, such as phytochemicals and fiber, are also discussed.
