Graduation Degree Conferment Date Policy

Policy Statement


To be eligible for graduation at Life University a student must meet all academic and administrative requirements of graduation.  Academic requirements include, but are not limited to, all catalog requirements, grade point average, exit exam, residency, clearance confirmations, and institutional credit hour residency requirements.  Administrative requirements include all requirements laid out by the Office of the Registrar upon notification of graduation eligibility.

The Office of the Registrar determines a student’s degree conferment date by the last academic event on their record at Life University.  Academic events may include:

•Final Grades
•Grade Changes
•Test Credit
•Transient Coursework
•Administrative Memorandums
•Enrollment Application
•Graduation Application
•Course Exemption

Background: The intent of this policy is to standardize degree conferment dates based on academic events rather than date of the last term attended.  This is to better serve students at the university who do not follow the standard path to graduation, such as returning students or students who did not apply to graduation at the appropriate time.
