Policy Title
Life University Housing Cancellation Policy
Policy Statement
If a student wishes to cancel their housing agreement, formal written notice must be provided to the leasing office prior to move out. If a student wishes to cancel their housing agreement after they have moved in, the student must complete a Notice to Vacate form located in the leasing office. Cancellation charges will be assessed depending on the date of cancellation and the reason for leaving.

Cancellation after assignment lose application and administration fees-$250

Cancellation due to Disciplinary Actions will incur a $250 fee

No show on move in day lose application and administration fees, plus additional $250- $500

Cancellation after move in pay one month’s rent (depending on housing agreement)
No cancellation charge is assessed for the following circumstances:

Students who can provide a proof of graduation

Students who withdraw due to deployment for an armed service

Student must participate in an education program that requires out-of-town residency for part of the academic year (i.e. medical rotations, National Student Exchange, International Study Abroad, and Co-Op.)
Procedure(s)
If the student cancels their housing agreement due to permanent withdraw from Life University, the student must vacate within 72 hours of effective withdraw date.
Cancellation charges must be paid within 30 days. Students with unpaid housing account balances will be placed on Housing Financial Hold. Students placed on Housing Financial Hold become ineligible for further registration and transcripts will not be released until the student account is paid in full.
A return payment fee of $50.00 may be assessed when payment is not honored by the bank on which it was drawn.
Debtors who do not make satisfactory payment arrangements on their past due accounts may have their accounts placed with a collection agency. It is the policy of the University that unpaid accounts will be assessed the costs and expenses of collection, including attorney fees.
