POLICY TITLE

COC National Board Graduation Policy

POLICY STATEMENT

The Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE) Policy 56 states that 80% of students must successfully pass all parts of the licensing exams within six months post-graduation. To ensure compliance with CCE Policy 56 and to facilitate student ability to practice upon graduation, each student enrolled in the DCP will be required to pass all four parts (I, II, III, IV) of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners examinations before graduation.

Those international students making a formal declaration by the end of 6th quarter, that they will not be practicing in the United States, are exempt from NBCE exams.

PROCEDURE(S)

The academic record of each College of Chiropractic student who applies for graduation will be reviewed prior to graduation to determine compliance with the COC National Board (NBCE) Graduation Policy. A report will be generated by the end of the third week of the anticipated graduation quarter by the University Advisement Center (UAC) to provide a list of students who are not in compliance to the Dean’s office.

Beginning Fall quarter 2025, those students who have not passed all four Parts (I, II, III, IV) will not be eligible for graduation. The COC Dean’s Office in coordination with the advisement office will be responsible for notifying students of their status relative to this policy after the student applies for graduation. Any request for exceptions to the policy must be submitted to and approved by the Dean’s office. The Dean, or their designee, will review the request from the student and respond to the student and their advisor.

International students who will not be practicing in the United States must make a formal declaration indicating such by the end of 6th quarter to be exempt from NBCE exams. The COC Dean’s Office will maintain the list of students making this declaration and will follow up with students who will be practicing outside the United States to obtain proof of licensure and/or recognition to legally practice within the country where they reside.
