PURPOSE: To define the admission requirements for all entering students into the DC program.

POLICY TITLE


DCP Admission Policy

POLICY STATEMENT


Students admitted to the DCP to begin the program in winter quarter 2026 will be admitted under one of the following categories.

 

A. Bachelor’s degree with cumulative 3.00 GPA or above.

Required coursework:

8 semester credit hours (12 quarterly credit hours) of life or natural sciences with minimum of 4 semester hours (6 quarterly credit hours) of chemistry and/or biological sciences.

 

B. Non-degree with 90 semester (135 quarterly) credit hours and 3.00 to 4.00 cumulative GPA.

Required coursework:

12 semester credit hours (18 quarterly credit hours) of life or natural sciences with minimum of 6 semester hours (9 quarterly) of chemistry and/or biological sciences.

 

C. Non-degree with 90 semester (135 quarterly) credit hours and 2.75-2.99 cumulative GPA.

Required coursework:

16 semester credit hours (24 quarterly credit hours) of life or natural sciences with minimum of 8 semester hours (12 quarterly) of chemistry and/or biological sciences.

PROCEDURE(S)


Each individual student is tracked for their admission category for each of the following.

  1. BS Degree, 3.00 GPA, 8 semester credit hours of life or natural sciences with 4 credit hours chemistry and/or biology
  2. Non degree with 90 total credit hours, 3.00 GPA, 12 semester credit hours of life or natural sciences with 6 hours of chemistry and/or biology
  3. Non degree with 90 total credit hours, 2.75-2.99 GPA, 16 semester credit hours of life or natural sciences with 8 hours of chemistry and/or biology
  4. Accepted Conditionally (needs transcript)
  5. Accepted Contingently (needs transcript and/or credit hours) – cannot matriculate
