POLICY TITLE

College of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies (CGUS) 2 Term Registration

POLICY STATEMENT

All undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to register for two (2) terms during the official quarterly registration time.

PROCEDURE(S)

To help with retention, progression, and student planning, all undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to register for two (2) terms during the official quarterly registration time:

Summer/Fall and Winter/Spring

Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer

Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter

Winter/Spring and Summer/Fall

Registration is based on the advice and scheduled plans created by the student’s Academic Advisor. The College of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies creates a year-long course cycle that is provided to the Registrar’s office in the Spring quarter each year. The Registrar’s office builds out the course schedule based on the created cycle provided by the college. Each student, especially first quarter students, is required to meet with Academic Advising before they can register for courses.

If a student drops a course or is unsuccessful in the course, the student must repeat the course the very next time the course is offered. Students are required to meet with their Academic Advisor to adjust their schedule to accommodate the course offerings. Students revising their academic plan and updating registration after a course failure or withdrawal is critical. This registration update ensures advisors and students are aligned to the next steps and helps prevent delays toward degree completion.
