SHS 105 - Foundations of Exercise Science (5-0-5) Students will develop skills that will help them become leaders in the area of fitness and will be exposed to ideas that will enable them to become entrepreneurs in the fitness field. Through class discussion and group work, students will develop their communications skills, such as effective listening, empathy to foster professional fitness relationships with their peers. Students will be exposed to a range of exercise principles that should help them reach higher levels of physical performance and health success.

This class will provide an overview of exercise science and associated areas, such as athletic training, sports medicine, and wellness to help students develop an understanding of the fundamentals of exercise science and the variety of career paths in the field. In addition, this course will relate exercise science to physical activity and health in society.
