BIO 316 - Principles of Genetics (5-0-5) Prerequisites: BIO 111 and CHM 112 This course examines the transmission, structure, function, regulation and mutation of the hereditary material of viruses, prokaryotes and eukaryotes. The course concludes with a consideration of the effects of selection, mutation, generation time and population size on the genetics of populations. This is a required core course for all departmental majors.
