Degree Requirements


Students receiving a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition degree must complete a minimum total of 180 quarter credit hours of instruction.

Core Curriculum Offerings


Area I: Humanities, Health and Wellness 25 Quarter Credit Hours
Area II: Social Sciences 15 Quarter Credit Hours
Area III: Science, Mathematics and Computers 20 Quarter Credit Hours

Area IV: Foundation to Major 30 Quarter Credit Hours
Area V: Major Requirements 60 Quarter Credit Hours

Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Curriculum


Areas I, II, III


Core Curriculum Offerings  

Nutrition students are required to take BIO 111 and CHM 111 in Area III B.

Area VI: Minor/Electives


30 Quarter Credit Hours 

Grade of “C” or better is required.

  • Choose a Minor of 25 credit hours and 5 elective credit hours OR choose 30 credit hours of elective courses not previously taken, with at least 15 credit hours at 300 level or above. Minimum grade of C or better required for the minor.

Additional Completion Requirements


  • Satisfactory completion of all required courses with minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.0.
  • All courses from Areas IV – VI must be completed with a minimum grade of C.
  • To receive a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition degree from Life University, 25% of coursework must be completed at Life University, 30 credit hours of which shall be in Nutrition. Residency is defined as being enrolled (matriculated) as an on-campus student, as a distance learner or via independent study, and has earned the minimum requirements as outlined above.
  • Completion of SLP requirements and documentation on co-curricular transcript.
  • File a petition to graduate.
  • Administrative and student reviews of records:
    • Registrar Office – complete a formal academic records review
    • Complete Exit Counseling, if applicable, online at www.StudentAid.gov
    • Student Accounting – Rectify any account balance
