Bachelor of Arts in Human Ecology Degree Requirements


Students receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Human Ecology degree must complete a minimum total of 180 credit hours of instruction.

Core Curriculum Offerings


Area I: Humanities, Health, & Wellness 25 Quarter Credit Hours
Area II: Social Sciences 15 Quarter Credit Hours
Area III: Science, Mathematics, & Computers 20 Quarter Credit Hours

Total: 60 Credit Hours


Bachelor of Arts Requirements


Area IV: Foundation to Major 30 Quarter Credit Hours
Area V: Major Courses 60 Quarter Credit Hours
Area VI: Minor/Electives 30 Quarter Credit Hours

Total: 120 Quarter Credit Hours


Total Bachelor of Arts Requirements: 180 Quarter Credit Hours

Area V: Major Requirements


60 Credit Hours

All courses must be completed with a grade of C or better.

Area VI: Minor/Electives


30 Credit Hours

  • Choose a Minor of 25 credit hours and 5 elective credit hours OR choose 30 credit hours of elective courses not previously taken, with at least 15 credit hours at 300 level or above. Minimum grade of C or better required for the minor.

Additional Completion Requirements


  1. At least 25% of coursework must have been earned at Life University
  2. Satisfactory complete of all Area IV and V courses with a minimum of grade C or better.
  3. Satisfactory completion of all courses with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.0.
  4. A recommendation for graduation and completion of an exit interview witht he Registrar.
  5. Completion of an exit interview with the Natural Science faculty
  6. File a petition to graduate.
  7. Administrative and student review of records:
    1. Registrar Office - complete a formal academic records review during the quarter immediately preceding the intended quarter for graduation
    2. Financial Aid Office - exit interviews with a counselor
    3. Student Accounting - “Perkins” exit interview and rectify account balance.
