MBUS 6500 - Principles of Management in Health Services Organizations (5-0-5)
This course provides an overview of the current structure in the healthcare industry and an understanding of the complex inter-relationships among industry players. The course will explore the business models used by various industry players, including providers, innovators, insurers, employers, and government regulators. Students will become familiarized with the economic incentives and essential issues which must be addressed for individual players to create value in the U.S. healthcare system. Students will leave the course with the ability to frame the critical questions needed to assess potential business strategies and manage operational issues in each sector of the healthcare industry.
