BIO 111 - General Biology I ** (4-2-5) This course provides an introduction to fundamental concepts of biology with emphasis on the basic unit of life, the cell. Topics addressed include the origin, structure and diversity of cells and living systems; the molecular basis of life, cell function and energetics; cell reproduction and classical genetics. Required for students continuing in bioscience/health curricula. This course consists of four hours of lecture and two hour lab per week.
